This page lists planning, assessment and educational resources related to building system, agency and professional capacity to promote mental health through schools. These different agency or organizational capacities can be built in eight areas:
1. Coordinated policy and leadership
2. Formal and informal mechanisms for cooperation/coordination
3. Staffing & infrastructure to support cooperation
4. Ongoing workforce development
5. Strategic management of issues and trends
6. Organized knowledge transfer & exchange
7. Regular monitoring and reporting
8. Explicit planning for sustainability
The Whole School Mental Health Promotion Pilot Project in Calgary has recently been working on a Sustainability Framework as it moves to the end of its externally facilitated phase (see attachment at the bottom of the page). Although referencing the project, the content is generic and could be applied to any 'project approach' in almost any interest area in schools. This is very much a 'work in progress' but is attached here for the information of anyone interested. We would be very interested to hear from anyone who may have views on this, and /or suggestions for improving the document.
